Thursday, December 31, in order to avoid penalty.
Starting Jan. 1, 2010, the penalty is 13 percent. For the first time ever, taxpayers have the option of paying their taxes using credit or debit cards. A 3.9 percent convenience fee will be charged to the taxpayers if they choose to pay by credit or debit.
